A vacation is what you take…

… when you can no longer take what you’ve been taking – Earl Wilson
You’ll notice the absence of posts in the last few days, I was up to my eyes this week, the reason … preparing for vacation! Tomorrow morning i’ll be catching a SAS flight for Dublin. Ahead is two and a bit weeks of Lyons tea, taytos, cadburys chocolate, proper Guinness, Pat the Baker bread, coleslaw, boxty, club orange, driving on the correct side of the road, talking normal, decent pubs, some more Guinness and whatever else I can squeeze into the next 16 days! It’s very unlikely that i’ll be online during this time, I really need to peel myself off the PC for a while, so until next time, I bid you adieu!

  1. Great thing about being an GB-based ex-pat, is that it is easy to get your hands on Irish produce – whether it be Lyons Tea, Taytos, Cidona, Galtee cheese, or a few spuds etc. You pay over the odds at the Irish shop for them, but its well worth it.

Anyway, I hope yourself and the family have a safe journey – happy holidays.

  2. YOOHOO! :hehe: Have wile craic!

  3. I remember from my time living in London, one of the great pleasures of coming back to Ireland on holidays was the first pint of Guinness.

    Have a good one.

  6. We want pictures, & descriptions of what your first bag in ages of cheese’n'onion tasted like, plus the 1st Guinness, jelly tots, …

  7. Would you ever think of bringing a few slices of "rye bread" from the home country to Eire?

  8. Back in business lads. Jaysus i’ve had an overdose of taytos during the past two weeks … had me fair share of Guinness too I might add. Lovely stuff.

I tried to take some photos of the Guinness Mick but being "ar meisce" all I got was a few pictures of the ceiling *hic* :hehe:

Irene … were you looking for rye bread? Damn, if only i’d known sooner I could have brought you some :)
