Your own phone as a VoIP phone

Via Slashdot; apparently there’s a wee device (listed on Gozmondo) which allows you to use your own existing mobile phone to make VoIP calls. You just plug the “imFONE” (produced by Korean company Enustech) into the USB port on your computer, pair it via Bluetooth to your phone and that’s it.
Unfortunately it only works with Samsung E3700, V6900, and LG KF 1000 Bluetooth devices but no doubt that list will expand in future. The price in Korea is about €52 (66,000 krw). There’s no details given on whether or not it is available in Europe, but we’ll have to keep an eye out for this one.

  1. Ever heard voice carried by Bluetooth? It’s levels below the quality of DECT phones and noticeably poorer than a mid-range mobile phone connection.

  2. I didn’t know that Bernie, thx for the info. With so many people using buletooth mobile headsets I would have assumed the quality was good.

  3. Did you see that eBay have bought Skype for €2.1 billion?

  4. I did alright. I was going to post it then lost interest :)
