FFS U2

Bit late with this one. It was during the recent Rep.Ireland match I noticed the ads for “U2 18“. “Gifted!” sez I, “A new U2 album”. Boy was I disappointed, it’s just another fucking greatest hits album. WTF U2???
I’m proud of my U2 collection. I have most albums on tape, what I don’t have on tape I have on CD and I have just about everything on MP3. But this is one album i’ll find very hard to buy, I already have all the songs bar The Saints Are Coming and Window In The Skies. We need an album with new material lads! If you would be so kind as to get your collective fingers out, i’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

    I noticed the same thing – they seem to bring out an awful lot of compilations, especially around Christmas. I’m sure that’ll change as soon as they see the message here :)

    To be fair to the lads, a lot of the greatest hits type of efforts come from the record label as opposed to the band themselves. Easy money makers, and all that. Great blog btw, found you via…a load of different people!

    Well, you might have a point but U2 are so big i’d say they can call the shots … anyway I just found out this morning that the lads are working on a new album. They obviously caught my blog post and decided to get working!
