No energy for blogging

I just haven’t had the energy for blogging recently … writing or even reading blogs. Work is draining me and I have been driving from Sligo to Cork once per week for the past 4 weeks, heading down again tomorrow as a matter of fact.

I was planning to blog the BBC story on illegal web coverage of premiership matches and enquire if anyone had any such links. I’ve no qualms about watching illegal coverage of games!

I was also going to blog the interesting (to me) article on Bloomberg; It’s Time for Scots, English to File for Divorce. Damn, wouldn’t that be something, if the Scots went for independence?? What would happen with Wales then? And poor aul diseased Northern Ireland??

Earlier stories I was going to blog include the Swearing Lady’s post on illegal music downloads. Did I ever mention that I downloaded close to 4 Gb … yes 4 Gb … of music from Allofmp3.com in the past year alone? Illegal or not I couldn’t give a fuck. I simply refuse to pay cunts like Apple €0.99 per song and CD’s prices are still a rip off. No shame, I don’t care.

Oh yeah … and I had my first blogger meet up. Myself and the bauld Gerry O’Sullivan had a brief meeting recently. Gerry has gone mad altogether and gotten himself a new URL and has the new blog UnLaoised up and running! Laois Gerry? Jaysus! ;)

I started listening to Today FM recently … and although I always thought Ray Darcy was a bit of a dick I think he is quite funny on air (at least you’re not forced to look at the cunt) and i’ve become a regular listener now. Though he did cross the line when he attacked Blogorrah … anthrax’s in the mail Ray, you can’t insult one of my favourite blogs and not expect repercussions.

So Christmas is coming … hmmm.

More blogging at the weekend hopefully …

  1. What would happen with Wales then

We’re going to sit back, watch Scotland become independent, hope the English do the same, and BINGO, we’re also independent by default without having to lift a finger :-)

It’s obviously not that simple, but hopefully the Scots will go for it (although even if the SNP win power this time round, I’m still not sure if the whole country will go for independence), and that will definately have an impact on Wales.

The reaction in England post-devolution is quite interesting. I’ve been reading reading an interesting blog by the Campaing for an English Parliment for a year or so. Although most of the comments left are borderline racist, the post themselves are very intelligent.

  2. Today FM was one of my favourite listening while I was driving around your wonderful Irish countryside in my past holidays ;-)
But I cannot express any opinion about their speakers, I don’t know them at all.

Would ye not take the bull by the horns and start a rebellion or something? :)

What’s the feeling in Wales re:independence, would most people be up for it or is some form of devolution the favoured ‘solution’?

Cheers for the link, one for the bookmarks.

It seems to be a good station, but it’s only this Darcy fella that i’ve listened to fairly consistently. I would have normally listened to 2FM which is the main music station in Ireland. You probably picked up some of that on your travels?

  4. With over a 1/4 of the population being born outside Wales (1/5 of population is Engliah born) means that a referendum on independence would be difficult to win.

Having said that, younger people, particularly educated ones are more likely to identify themselves as Welsh first, British second, and also increasingly many identify themselves as Welsh only – which can only be a good thing ;-)

  5. That seems to be a trend in the UK (or GB at least). Have you noticed it much? What future is there for a British identity?
