01/19/2004: "Sick of it all"

It's so easy to get utterly sick of the situation in the North of Ireland. Dropping by once again to my primary source of information on Northern Ireland we find many intelligent and knowledgable people resorting to the usual routine of blaming the other side and turning a blind eye to what their own side is doing. And this applies to both sides.

It's really amazing how childish grown people can get. Rather than acknowledge the problems which exist people seem to prefer to spout the same worthless drivel over and over.

Of course people in Ireland and Britain have been sick of the Northern troubles for a long time but with relative peace now for a number of years you'd expect that people would have attempted to acknowledge the wrongs and try to understand the deeper problems. But it's evident from the above linked discussion that the hatred is as deep routed as ever and the same people continue with the same bickering that others have being doing over the history of the troubles.
