04/09/2004: "So this is free Baghdad"

Another story from the Guardian. It's a year to the day that US troops helped pull down a statue of Saddam in Bagdad.
Whatever you think of the war, whether US/UK should have invaded or not, you have to admit that the war is far from over.
You'd think that the experience of the US in Vietnam and the UK in Northern Ireland that these wars are long and costly. Bush may have declared victory for the allies but in reality there has been no victory and there never will be a victory for the allies. IMHO.
