02/22/2005: "Another Luas crash!"
Yes indeedy, the tenth Luas crash since it opened in September. 5 injured in this latest accident. They should seriously consider switching from chimpanzee drivers to humans drivers.
Yeah yeah, it's probably not the fault of the drivers. Something should be done to improve safety, though they probably consider 10 crashes since September acceptable.

Me sister was that train, was all shook up from it. I'd imagine the problem isn't the tram drivers, but its idiots thinking they can beat the train across the tracks ...

Sorry to hear that Mick, I hope she wasn't hurt.
Yeah, you're probably right there about where the fault lies. Do they need to educate drivers or install extra safety measures or what? Just seems like a lot of accidents to me.

I haven't seen the Luas in action, but other cities (like Amsterdam) seem to handle multiple trams, bus, cars & bikes on the same road. But,they do try and deter car traffic in the city center.
I also think that people forget that a tram (or train) isn't a car, it goes where the tracks go and can only stop and go.
