After their brutal result against Israel Ireland (sorry, Republic of ...) bounce back with a win in a friendly over China, thanks to Clinton Morrison again.

Normally, I go along to the friendlies at Lansdowne, but couldn't make it last night. I saw some of the 'highlights' on telly and it looked pretty woejus, so I'm glad I missed it.

Still, France and Israel drawing tonight did us some favours, tho' the Swiss win over Cyprus means they are now like us, on 9 pts with 5 games played, and a better goal difference.

It's all to play for, lads!

Reports say it was a brutal game. Maybe their heart wasn't in it after the Israel game. Certainly they'll need to pull their socks up for the remaining qualifiers.
