04/07/2005: "The end in sight for the Provos?"

"Unprecedented" they are calling Adams' speech yesterday, where he called on the IRA to end it's armed struggle [registration cheat] and continue their struggle by "purely political and democratic activity". No doubt other Northern parties as well as the British & Irish governments are a bit sceptical over this, still Adams has stuck his neck out further than ever before. We'll await the PIRA response. Of course, it'll make no difference to Paisley who has vowed "never to speak to Sinn Féin under any circumstances". I don't know about you but i'd be delighted to not have to talk to that aul whinging bollox.
Update: Gerry's speech and reaction to said speech on Slugger.
