Irish teams in Europe
Shels have quite a job to do against Croatian side Hadjuk Split tonight if they hope to make it into the 3rd round of the Champions League. Fingers cross though i'm not optimistic.
More importantly Longford Town also have a toughie, they need to pull back a 1 goal defecit against FC Vaduz, UEFA Cup 2nd leg tomorrow night in Flancare Pk. Fingers, toes and willy crossed for that one.

Two cases of the West Nile virus are in Ireland, in both cases the infected had recently visited the Algarve in Portugal.

A Scottish councillor has got into a spot of bother over comments he made about the English. When Portugal scored against England he shouted "'Ha, Ha! F* you! Ya f*ing beauty!" and was promptly kicked out of the pub. It's not the first time the same man has got into a bit of trouble for comments made.
